Presets
Presets let you save your complete gesture/shortcut configuration to a single file and restore it later, so you can easily switch between different setups.
You can also share your setup with other people or use configurations other users have shared. There are some great ready-to-use presets on https://community.folivora.ai
Accessing the Preset functionality
To open the preset settings, click the Preset: … button in the top bar of the configuration window (or use the main menu Presets => Select Active Presets):
The Master Preset
The dropdown at the top of the preset view selects the Master Preset. The Master Preset matters because:
- All new triggers you create are added to the Master Preset
- All app specific settings are saved to the Master Preset
- All app specific settings are loaded from the Master Preset (if other presets have conflicting ones, the Master Preset wins)
Enabled presets that aren't the master still work fine. But if you want to add new triggers to one of them, make it the master first.
Preset Standard functionality:
- Create a new Preset: BetterTouchTool starts with one standard preset, but you can add as many as you like, e.g. for different situations.
- Enable / Disable Preset: You can enable or disable presets at any time. For example, you could have one preset for work and one for home and switch between them.
- Delete a Preset: You can delete presets at any time.
- Export a Preset: Exports the selected preset in JSON format, to share it with others or as a backup.
- Import a Preset: Import presets you exported earlier or presets from other users. Keep in mind that presets can contain all kinds of scripts, which could do malicious things. Only import presets from people you trust!
Switching between Presets
The most common way to switch presets is to enable/disable them as described above. There are also predefined actions that activate specific presets, which is handy if you want to e.g. enable/disable presets with a keyboard shortcut.
The predefined actions are:
- Switch to Preset / Enable Specific Presets
Lets you specify exactly which presets should be active after the action runs, and which preset becomes the new Master Preset.

- Toggle Presets Enabled/Disabled
Toggles the selected presets between enabled and disabled.
